Visakhapatnam railway division

Visakhapatnam railway division (formerly known as Waltair railway division) is one of the four divisions of the South Coast Railway zone of the Indian Railways.

In 2025, Rayagada railway division was newly formed by carving out part of Waltair railway division and the truncated Waltair railway division was renamed as Visakhapatnam railway division.

Visakhapatnam railway division was awarded efficiency shields in eight categories. Vizianagaram and Tilaru were awarded best major and minor clean stations.

During the 2014–15 financial year, the division recorded its highestof 6,653.31 crore (US$790 million). It includes the majority share of 6,159.73 crore (US$730 million) from freight transport itself. The division had transported 54.86 million tonnes of load and 33.72 million passengers. The passengers earnings were 433.15 crore (US$51 million)

During 2012–13, freight revenue earnings of Visakhapatnam railway division (then Waltair railway division) were 5,642 crore (US$670 million). For the same period, the passenger traffic was 32.94 million and passenger earnings were 312.96 crore (US$37 million) respectively.
