Family background
Alexandra Benjamin Krosney was born on January 28, 1988, in Los Angeles, California, USA.[1] As a native Californian, she spent her early years in the city, immersed in an environment central to the American entertainment industry.[2] Krosney has consistently prioritized privacy in her personal affairs, sharing minimal details about her family. Public records and interviews reveal no specific information regarding her parents' names, professions, or backgrounds, nor any mention of siblings. Krosney is of Ashkenazi Jewish descent, with roots in Russia, Poland/Austria, and Lithuania; her paternal grandparents were Emanuel Krosney and Ruth B. Kugelman, and her maternal grandfather was surnamed Gottlieb.[9] This discretion aligns with her overall approach to maintaining a low profile outside of her professional endeavors.[9] Her upbringing in Los Angeles provided natural proximity to the film and television sectors, fostering an early awareness of creative opportunities in the field, though specific family influences on her path remain undisclosed.[4]Entry into acting
Krosney discovered her passion for acting during a childhood musical theatre camp, where she first experienced the thrill of performance.[3] This early exposure ignited her interest, leading her to pursue acting opportunities in her native Los Angeles.[4] Around the age of 14, Krosney began her initial forays into the performing arts as a child actor, participating in independent films, local plays, and commercials.[2] These non-professional experiences allowed her to hone her skills and build a foundation in the industry, often alongside modeling work to support her budding career.[4] In 2002, at age 14, Krosney took her first professional steps with minor appearances that marked her entry into screen acting.[10] These early roles paved the way for her transition into television, establishing her presence in Hollywood.[4]Career
Early roles
Krosney made her professional acting debut in 2002 at the age of 14, portraying the character Cricket in the unaired pilot episode of the Fox sitcom The Grubbs, which was not picked up for a full series.[3][11] Throughout the mid-2000s, she accumulated experience through a series of guest spots on established television series, helping to establish her presence in the industry. Notable appearances included playing Young Lianna Sardo in the 2003 episode "Moving On" of Without a Trace, Remy in three episodes of Family Affair that same year, and Trina in the 2004 episode "White Guy, Dark Hair" of ER.[1][12] She continued with roles such as Angelica in the 2005 episode "Tom Sawyer" of Grounded for Life, a student (Ashley #2) in the 2008 episode "Lip Service" of Cory in the House, Josephine Kirtland in the 2007 episode "Nine Wives" of Numb3rs, and Nadia Harcourt in the 2006 episode "Bait" of NCIS.[1][12] Additional early credits included guest spots on CSI: NY (2007), recurring as Lucy Ryan on Psych (2009–2010), young Eloise Hawking on Lost (2009), and Amy Cullen on Bones (2010). Her early foray into voice acting began in 2007, voicing Isabel "Izzy" Klein in the TV movie Shredderman Rules and Harmony in Read It and Weep, followed by minor animated roles in the late 2000s.[1][13] In addition to television, Krosney ventured into film with her lead role as Diana Malloy in the 2007 Disney Channel Original Movie The Last Day of Summer, where she starred alongside Jansen Panettiere in a story about a boy wishing to relive the final day of summer vacation.[14]Breakthrough role
In 2011, Alexandra Krosney was cast as Kristin Baxter, the independent eldest daughter and single mother in the ABC sitcom Last Man Standing, starring opposite Tim Allen as her father, Mike Baxter. The character was depicted as a spunky, resilient young woman balancing motherhood to her son Boyd with tense yet affectionate family interactions, often clashing with Mike's traditional views while asserting her autonomy.[15] Krosney's performance during the show's first season (2011–2012) was praised for its authenticity in portraying a young mother's challenges and for her natural chemistry with the ensemble cast, particularly in scenes highlighting familial banter and support.[16] Reviewers noted her ability to bring energy and relatability to Kristin, contributing to the sitcom's early appeal as a modern family comedy.[17] Following the season's conclusion, Krosney departed the series in June 2012 due to unspecified creative differences, with the role of Kristin recast by Amanda Fuller for season two.[18] Producers cited the need to evolve the character's direction, though Krosney later reflected on her time on the show as a valuable early career highlight in interviews promoting subsequent projects.[19]Later projects
Following her departure from Last Man Standing in 2012, Krosney diversified into guest-starring roles on television, beginning with an appearance as Liz Barnes, a fellow medical intern, in the CW series Emily Owens, M.D. during its 2013 episode "Emily and... the Leap."[20] This role highlighted her ability to portray supportive yet layered characters in dramatic settings, marking a shift from family sitcom dynamics to more ensemble-driven narratives. In 2014, Krosney expanded her voice acting portfolio with the role of Stormy, also known as Canary Yellow, in three episodes of the animated reboot Rainbow Brite, voicing the antagonistic sprite who schemes against the protagonists in a colorful fantasy world. This project, aimed at a younger audience, showcased her versatility in animation, building on earlier voice work while allowing for expressive, non-live-action performance. She also voiced characters in the animated series Transformers: Prime around this time.[1] Krosney's television guest spots continued into 2015 with a role as Ms. Jens, the fiancée of a key character, in the NBC period drama Aquarius episode "Cease to Resist," where she contributed to the storyline involving 1960s counterculture and investigation.[21] That same year, she took on a supporting film role as Cindy in Barely Lethal, a teen action-comedy directed by Kyle Mooney, playing a high school rival to the protagonist's undercover spy persona.[22] These appearances demonstrated her range across genres, from historical drama to lighthearted action. She was also cast in the unaired 2015 MTV pilot Self Promotion as Katie Preston, a dark comedy about an assistant navigating corporate intrigue after her boss's disappearance, directed by Zach Braff.[23][24] Krosney appeared in two short films that year: as Lillie in The Pinhole Affect, a satirical look at Hollywood ambitions and personal struggles, and in a minor capacity in Funny Woman.[25] Post-2015, Krosney's output became notably sparse, with a lead role as Leanne in the 2016 short film Twenty-Three Pints, an action-drama involving a botched kidnapping and unlikely alliances.[26] She had a supporting role in the unaired iZombie pilot in 2014 but was recast. Her most recent credit as of November 2025 is a voice role as Bethecca in a 2021 episode of the Netflix animated series Archibald's Next Big Thing Is Here, voicing a character in a family-oriented adventure. This limited activity reflects a selective approach to projects, with no major leading roles in television or film since her mid-2010s endeavors, resulting in reduced public visibility.[1]Personal life
Relationships
Alexandra Krosney has maintained a high level of privacy regarding her romantic life, with very little public information available about her relationships. She is known for being one of the more secretive actresses in Hollywood, deliberately shielding her personal matters from media attention.[27] The only reported romantic involvement in her history is a brief relationship with Kevin Cornish in 2014, which received minimal public notice and ended that same year.[28] As of 2025, Krosney remains single, with no confirmed partnerships or romantic developments disclosed since her time with Cornish.[29]Interests
Alexandra Krosney maintains a low public profile regarding her personal life, with limited details available about her hobbies and interests beyond her professional pursuits. She has expressed a preference for privacy, rarely sharing aspects of her non-acting passions in interviews or public forums. This selective approach extends to her social media presence, where she occasionally posts lighthearted or personal updates, such as adopting the nickname "Short King" in a 2024 Instagram entry, reflecting a humorous and guarded engagement with fans.[30]Filmography
Film roles
Krosney appeared in the 2006 Disney Channel Original Movie Read It and Weep, playing Harmony, a supporting role in a story about a high school student whose journal becomes a bestseller.[31] She made her Nickelodeon debut in the 2007 TV movie Shredderman Rules, portraying Tina Atkins, the interest of the protagonist in a tale of a tech-savvy teen fighting bullying online.[32] Krosney starred as Diana Malloy in the 2007 Nickelodeon TV movie The Last Day of Summer, the sister of the protagonist who relives the last day of summer to overcome fears.[14] In 2015, she played Cindy, a mean girl antagonist, in the action-comedy Barely Lethal, directed by Kyle Newman and starring Hailee Steinfeld as a teenage spy seeking normalcy.[22] Krosney's film output has remained limited, with no additional feature films, TV movies, or direct-to-video credits reported as of November 2025.[1]Television roles
Krosney's live-action television career includes guest appearances across procedural dramas, sitcoms, and other genres, alongside one prominent series regular role early in her career. She portrayed Kristin Baxter as a series regular during the first season of the sitcom Last Man Standing from 2011 to 2012.[7] Her guest roles include appearances in The Grubbs (2002), Without a Trace (2003, 2007), ER (2004), Grounded for Life (2005), NCIS (2006), Bones (2006), Cory in the House (2008), Numb3rs (2007), and Lost (2009), among others.
