Childhood commercial appearances

At the age of four, he featured alongside his parents Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzales, as well as his twin sister Atasha, in advertisements for Jollibee, Toyota, and Selecta. These appearances were limited to group family-themed campaigns that highlighted everyday family moments and did not involve any individual acting credits or professional contracts for the young Muhlach. Such early exposure stemmed from his family's established presence in the entertainment industry, providing him with initial familiarity with being in front of the camera.

Education

Andres Muhlach completed his high school education at Brent International School's Biñan campus in Laguna, Philippines. He then pursued higher education in Spain in a Business and Communications course. In October 2023, he had one year remaining to complete his degree, which he prioritized finishing before fully committing to show business. He expressed interest in potentially completing remaining coursework online while in Manila.

Career

Entry into professional show business

Andres Muhlach formally entered professional show business in January 2024 when he signed a contract alongside his family with Manny V. Pangilinan, chairman and CEO of MVP Group of Companies, and Vic del Rosario, chairman and CEO of Viva Communications. The agreement, announced by Viva Artists Agency, established his representation under the agency and Viva Entertainment. This signing represented his transition from earlier childhood commercial and modeling appearances to a full-time career in the entertainment industry. The event was positioned as his official entry into professional acting and related ventures under the Viva umbrella.

Television debut and early roles

Andres Muhlach made his television debut in the Philippine family sitcom Da Pers Family, which premiered on TV5 on July 21, 2024. He portrayed Andres Pers, a character in the Persival family who helps manage their community bakery alongside his parents and twin sister, with the series emphasizing familial bonds and everyday challenges in a comedic format. Muhlach appeared in 17 episodes of the show during 2024, in what marked his first recurring television role. The series, which remains ongoing since its 2024 debut, represented his initial on-screen work in professional acting following his entry into show business.

Breakthrough role in web series

Andres Muhlach's breakthrough came with his leading role as Mark Keifer Watson in the Viva One web series Ang Mutya ng Section E, known internationally as The Jewel of Section E. He portrays the grumpy class president of a notorious all-male section whose authority is challenged by the arrival of a female transfer student, sparking chaos in this teen romantic comedy drama centered on enemies-to-lovers dynamics. Premiering on January 3, 2025, the series—produced by Studio Viva—quickly gained traction as a hit, launching Muhlach and his co-star Ashtine Olviga to international success and attracting a significant global audience through strong engagement on streaming platforms and social media. Viewers have praised the addictive blend of comedy, romance, and school-life nostalgia, particularly the chemistry between Muhlach and Olviga's characters. The show holds a 7.3 rating on IMDb based on over 6,500 votes and remains ongoing into 2026, with Muhlach appearing in 25 episodes as Mark Keifer Watson across its seasons. Following his earlier television appearance in Da Pers Family, this role established him as a prominent young actor in Philippine entertainment.

Film debut

Andres Muhlach made his feature film debut in the 2025 romantic drama Minamahal (also known as Minamahal: 100 Bulaklak Para Kay Luna), directed by Jason Paul Laxamana. The film marked his first appearance on the big screen, following his rising profile from television and web series work. Muhlach starred as Raffy, a shy high school teenager passionate about flowers who pursues a romance with Luna, a romance-averse art student portrayed by Ashtine Olviga. The story follows Raffy as he courts Luna by presenting her with flowers at meaningful times, with their relationship developing from high school through college amid life's challenges. A Philippine production in Filipino, the film emphasizes themes of young love, persistence, and emotional growth. Muhlach has spoken about the project as a significant milestone, describing the filming experience with Olviga as a magical feeling and noting the effort they invested in their on-screen chemistry. He also acknowledged feeling pressure in taking on a lead role as a newcomer to cinema, given his family's show business legacy, but viewed it as motivation to improve incrementally. The film received positive audience feedback upon release.

Theater and stage work

Andres Muhlach made his stage debut in Bagets: The Musical, a theatrical adaptation of the 1984 Filipino coming-of-age film Bagets. He portrayed the role of Adie, the charming boy-next-door character originally played by his father, Aga Muhlach, in the original film. Muhlach described the opportunity as a surreal full-circle moment and an honor, noting that he never imagined as a child watching the film with his family that he would one day play the same role. He emphasized his intent to bring his own interpretation to the character while capturing the charisma and ensemble spirit of the original. The production ran from January 23 to March 2026 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, with Muhlach alternating in the role of Adie alongside fellow actor Mico Hendrix Chua. He prepared for the role by rewatching the 1984 film alongside his father and participating in intensive rehearsals, including learning elements on short notice after returning from a trip. Muhlach acknowledged the pressure of honoring the film's lasting cultural impact on Filipino audiences but focused on creating a performance that would stand on its own merits for contemporary fans.
