Arjun Chakraborty (Bengali: অর্জুন চক্রবর্তী) is an Indian actor and director based in Kolkata.
Key Information
He made his debut as an actor in the 1983 Hindi film Zara Si Zindagi, and his first major role was in the 1986 film Ankush starring Nana Patekar. Later he shifted mainly to the Bengali film industry starting with the 1989 film Kari Diye Kinlam. He made his directorial debut in 2008 with the film Tollylights.[1]

Family and upbringing
Arjun Chakrabarty was born on 5 March 1990 in Kolkata, West Bengal, India.[9] He was raised in a Bengali family immersed in the entertainment industry, as the son of veteran actors Sabyasachi Chakrabarty and Mithun Chakrabarty (also known as Mithu Chakrabarty).[10] He has an elder brother, Gaurav Chakrabarty, who is also an actor. Growing up in Kolkata's cultural milieu, he was exposed to theatre and arts from a young age through his family's involvement in Bengali cinema and television.Training in acting
Chakrabarty did not undergo formal acting training. He developed an interest in performing arts during his college years and began his career in acting while pursuing his final year of studies. Arjun Chakrabarty began his acting career on television as a child artist in the 2000 DD Bangla series Satyajiter Priyo Golpo. He rose to prominence with his lead role as Gora in the musical series Gaaner Oparey (2010–2011) on Star Jalsha, opposite his brother Gaurav Chakrabarty, which became a major hit and established him as a popular figure in Bengali television.[2] The show's success led to him being named one of the Most Desirable Men on Bengali TV in 2017.[3] He returned to television in 2017 with the lead role of Ishan Chatterjee in Jamai Raja (2017–2018) on Zee Bangla, a family drama that further solidified his popularity.
