The chronicle serves to compile a day-by-day history of Igor Sikorsky.

Russia launches a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Sikorsky was born in Kyiv, which is the capital of Ukraine. The city becomes one of the main targets of the Russian forces.
Igor Sikorsky died at his home in Easton, Connecticut, at the age of 83. He was a Russian-American aviation pioneer who made significant contributions to both fixed-wing aircraft and helicopter technology. His work laid the foundation for modern helicopter design and manufacturing.
The Vought-Sikorsky VS-300 had its first free flight after the tethered flight on September 14, 1939. This demonstrated the viability of Sikorsky's helicopter design and paved the way for the mass production of helicopters.
The Vought-Sikorsky VS-300, designed by Igor Sikorsky, made its first tethered flight. This was a pivotal moment in helicopter development, pioneering the single main rotor and tail rotor configuration.
Sikorsky was awarded patent No. 1,994,488 for his "direct lift aircraft" design.
Sikorsky filed for a patent for another "direct lift aircraft".
Sikorsky filed an application to patent a "direct lift" amphibian aircraft which used compressed air to power a direct lift "propeller" and two smaller propellers for thrust.
Igor Sikorsky arrived in New York City after leaving France on March 24. This marked the beginning of his career in the United States, where he would later found the Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation and become a prominent figure in aviation history.
Igor Sikorsky left France on the ocean liner Lorraine, bound for the United States, to escape the Russian Revolution and seek new opportunities in aviation.
After some modifications, Sikorsky reached an altitude of "sixty or eighty feet" before the S-2 stalled and was completely destroyed when it crashed in a ravine.
Sikorsky's second design, called the S-2, was powered by a 25 hp Anzani engine in a tractor configuration and first flew at a height of a few feet.
Igor Ivanovich Sikorsky, a pioneer in both helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, was born in Kiev, Russian Empire (now Kyiv, Ukraine). He was the youngest of five children. His father, Ivan Alexeevich Sikorsky, was a professor of psychology in Saint Vladimir University (now Taras Shevchenko National University), a psychiatrist with an international reputation, and an ardent Russian nationalist.
