Jeremy Allen White was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Eloise Zeigler and Richard White, both theater actors who later transitioned to other careers.

White developed an interest in the arts from an early age, studying ballet, jazz, and tap dance throughout elementary school. He later became disappointed with the lack of rigor at his middle school dance program and decided to pursue acting instead.

White landed his first acting roles in the film "Beautiful Ohio" and the TV series "Conviction". He also began attending the Professional Performing Arts School in Manhattan.

White was cast as Phillip 'Lip' Gallagher in the Showtime series "Shameless", a role that would become one of his most notable and enduring performances. He remained a part of the cast for the show's entire 10-year run.

White appeared in the first season of the anthology series "Homecoming" and welcomed his first daughter, Ezer Billie White, with actress Addison Timlin. They married in 2019 and had a second daughter, Dolores Wild White, in 2020.

White was cast as Carmen 'Carmy' Berzatto in the FX series "The Bear", a role that has earned him widespread critical acclaim and numerous awards, including three Golden Globe Awards and two Emmy Awards.

White co-starred in the movie "The Iron Claw" and is set to portray rock star Bruce Springsteen in an upcoming biopic.

White won his third consecutive Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Series — Musical or Comedy for his performance in "The Bear".
