Pavinsky District (Russian: Па́винский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Kostroma Oblast, Russia. It is located in the northeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,600 square kilometers (620 sq mi).^{[citation needed]} Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Pavino. Population: 3,115 (2021 census); 5,102 (2010 census); 6,217 (2002 Census); 7,933 (1989 Soviet census). The population of Pavino accounts for 55.3% of the district's total population.
