Sorkheh

Sorkheh (Persian: سرخه)[a], whose name is often interpreted as “The Red One,” is a city located in the Central District[b] of Sorkheh County, within Semnan province, Iran. It functions as the administrative capital of the Sorkheh County,[5] a status it assumed following the territorial reorganisation after the 2011 National Census, when Sorkheh District was elevated to county level and renamed as its Central District. [c] Previously the capital of Sorkheh District within Semnan County, the city ceded its district-level administrative role in 2016, when Lasjerd village became the capital of both the Central District and the Lasgerd Rural District..[5]
