Steve Cooper is a Welsh professional football manager and former player, best known for his recent tenure as the manager of Premier League club Leicester City. Early Playing Career

Cooper joined Wrexham but did not make an appearance for the club. He was advised by manager Brian Flynn to pursue a coaching career instead of playing professionally. He later played for Total Network Solutions (now The New Saints), Rhyl, Bangor City, and Porthmadog in the Welsh football leagues.
Coaching Career Begins
2008
Cooper moved to Liverpool and was appointed as a youth coach, initially taking charge of the under-12s. He became the manager of Liverpool's academy in 2011.
England Youth Setup
2014
Cooper joined the England youth setup, initially coaching the U16s before moving to the U17s in 2015. He led the U17s to the final of the 2017 UEFA European U17 Championship and won the 2017 FIFA U17 World Cup.
Swansea City
2019
Cooper was appointed head coach of Swansea City on a three-year contract. He led the team to the playoff final in 2020/21 but lost to Brentford.
Nottingham Forest
2021
Cooper became the head coach of Nottingham Forest, leading the team from the bottom of the Championship to promotion to the Premier League in 2022. He was dismissed in December 2023 after a run of poor results.
Leicester City

Cooper was appointed as the manager of Leicester City on a three-year contract. However, he was sacked on 24 November 2024 after a winless run of five games.
