Cooper joined Wrexham but did not make an appearance for the club. Manager Brian Flynn suggested he pursue a coaching career instead.

Cooper played for Total Network Solutions (now The New Saints), Rhyl, Bangor City, and Porthmadog in the Welsh football leagues.
