VERSO International School
View on WikipediaVERSO International School (Thai: โรงเรียนนานาชาติเวอร์โซ, RTGS: Rongrian Nanachat Woeso) is a privately owned co-educational, international school located in Bang Phli district, Bangkok, Thailand, which opened in August 2020. It teaches students from Early Years 2 (pre-nursery) to Grade 12, and offers American curriculum.[3][4]
Key Information
In December 2025, it was announced that the school is scheduled to close in June 2026, with the campus planned to reopen in August 2026 as Wycombe Abbey International School Bangkok.
History
[edit]
VERSO International School was established as a joint venture between U City plc, a BTS Group Holdings company, and Fortune Hand Ventures Ltd, a Hong Kong-based education firm. Construction began in 2017[5] and the project's cost was estimated to be ฿5 billion (US$162 million).[3][6] The Bangkok Post reported it to be the largest international school in the Bangkok metropolitan area.[3][4]
The school opened in August 2020 for Early Years 2–Grade 8, with Grades 9–12 opening in 2021.[7][8]
VERSO's inaugural graduation took place on 14 June 2024 with 7 graduating students who received over 50 offers from colleges and universities from various countries.[9]
On 9 December 2025, Wycombe Abbey and BE Education announced a project to establish Wycombe Abbey International School Bangkok.[10][11] The new school is scheduled to open on the site in August 2026, following VERSO's planned closure in June 2026.[12]
Campus
[edit]Designed by IDEO,[13] the campus consists of four large O-shaped buildings called "loops". The loops are divided to Lower Loop (Early Years 2–Grade 4), Middle Loop (Grades 5–8), Upper Loop (Grades 9–12) and The Hub (administrative offices, dining hall and performing arts facilities among others).[14] The school is located on a 168-rai plot of land near the Suvarnabhumi Airport in Samut Prakan province.[3][4] Palmer & Turner received the world design awards in 2021 for the school building.[14]
Curriculum
[edit]VERSO follows the American curriculum which is based on the New York State Education Department (NYSED) framework. The school employs interdisciplinary teaching and project-based learning approaches.[15][16]
Accreditation
[edit]It is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)[17] and the Office for National Education Standards and Quality Assessment (ONESQA)[18], and it is a member of the East Asia Regional Council of Overseas Schools (EARCOS)[19] and the International Schools Association of Thailand (ISAT).[20]
