Algestone (INNTooltip International Nonproprietary Name), also known as alphasone or alfasone, as well as dihydroxyprogesterone, is a progestin which was never marketed.^[1] Another progestin, algestone acetophenide, in contrast, has been marketed as a hormonal contraceptive.^[1]
