For many years Bob Irwin preferred to work and manage the zoological park out of the public eye. He only infrequently engaged with the media.

Following his departure from the Zoo, Bob spent more time engaging with the media as he talked about conservation, and his new Bob Irwin Wildlife & Conservation Foundation. He also spoke about some of the internal differences at the Zoo.
