Upbringing
Chloe Bridges was born Chloe Marisa Suazo on December 27, 1991, in Thibodaux, Louisiana.[4] She was raised in the nearby city of Houma, where her father, Dr. Herminio Suazo, worked as a kidney specialist serving both Houma and Thibodaux communities.[8] Her mother, Kathy Bridges Suazo, supported the family's relocation efforts in pursuit of her daughter's ambitions.[8] Bridges' paternal heritage traces to Honduras, reflecting her multicultural background.[9] During her childhood in Louisiana, Bridges developed an early interest in performing arts, studying acting and modeling at the John Robert Powers school in New Orleans.[8] At age 13, in 2004, she moved with her mother to Burbank, California, to professionally pursue opportunities in the entertainment industry, leaving her father and prior life in Louisiana behind.[8] This transition marked the beginning of her immersion in Los Angeles' competitive acting scene.[10]Academic background
After moving to Los Angeles with her mother during her early teenage years, Bridges attended John Muir Middle School and graduated from Burbank High School, continuing her interest in performing arts alongside her academic pursuits.[11][12] In 2014, Bridges enrolled at Columbia University's School of General Studies as a first-year student, majoring in political science to complement her growing acting career.[13][11] Her choice of New York City for higher education was partly influenced by its proximity to theater opportunities, aligning with her early start in acting.[13] Throughout her time at Columbia, Bridges navigated the demands of a rigorous academic schedule with her professional acting roles, frequently relying on remote learning and flexible coursework to manage filming commitments in Los Angeles and elsewhere.[14][15] This balancing act required disciplined time management, as she has described in interviews, allowing her to maintain strong academic performance while advancing in the entertainment industry.[13] Bridges completed her degree in May 2020, earning a Bachelor of Arts in political science amid the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to a virtual graduation celebration at home with her then-fiancé Adam Devine.[3]Career
Early roles
Bridges began her acting career at the age of 13, shortly after her family relocated to Los Angeles to pursue opportunities in entertainment. Her first major role came in the ABC sitcom Freddie (2005–2006), where she portrayed Zoey Moreno, the niece of the titular character played by Freddie Prinze Jr.; for this performance, she was credited under her birth name, Chloe Suazo.[4] The role marked her debut as a series regular and connected to her subsequent guest appearance reprising Zoey in the 2006 crossover episode of George Lopez, titled "George Gets Cross Over Freddie."[16] Transitioning to film, Bridges appeared in supporting roles during this period, including as Tammy Anderson in the sports drama The Longshots (2008), a story inspired by the real-life achievements of young football player Jasmine Plummer.[17] She followed this with a part as Ashley Meadows in the direct-to-video comedy Legally Blondes (2009), a spin-off of the Legally Blonde franchise featuring the younger cousins of Elle Woods navigating high school challenges.[18] Her early association with Disney Channel projects solidified through an audition for the lead in the original Camp Rock (2008), though the role went to Demi Lovato; this led to her casting as Dana Turner, a talented pianist and love interest to Nick Jonas's character, in the sequel Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010).[19] In the film, Dana is introduced as a camper from the rival Camp Star, showcasing Bridges' emerging presence in family-oriented musical productions.[20]Breakthrough and television success
Bridges gained prominence in teen television with her recurring role as the antagonistic Donna LaDonna in The CW's The Carrie Diaries (2013–2014), a prequel series to Sex and the City that follows a young Carrie Bradshaw navigating high school and early adulthood in 1980s Connecticut.[21] As the school's queen bee and rival to the protagonist, LaDonna's character provided Bridges with opportunities to showcase her ability to portray sharp-witted, socially dominant young women, contributing to the show's exploration of friendship, romance, and ambition.[22] Building on this exposure, Bridges secured a recurring role as Sydney Driscoll, a cunning swimmer and A.D. Club member, in the ABC Family/Freeform series Pretty Little Liars from 2014 to 2017, appearing across multiple episodes in seasons 5 and 7.[23] Driscoll's manipulative nature added layers of intrigue to the show's mystery-driven narrative, with Bridges reprising the character in a guest capacity in the 2019 spin-off Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists. These appearances solidified her presence in young adult programming centered on suspense and interpersonal drama. She continued her television momentum with a recurring role as the sophisticated Zita Cruz in MTV's Faking It (2015–2016), a comedy about high school outsiders pretending to be a lesbian couple for popularity, where Zita served as a romantic interest and friend to the lead character Liam Booker amid the series' exploration of identity and relationships. In 2017, Bridges took on a main role as Kibby Ainsley, a recovering addict and former child star, in VH1's Daytime Divas, a satirical drama depicting behind-the-scenes tensions on a fictional talk show.[24] Her performance highlighted themes of redemption and industry pressures. Bridges later appeared in a recurring capacity as Roxy Buckley, a complex family member entangled in legal and personal conflicts, in Netflix's dark comedy Insatiable (2018–2019).Film work and recent projects
Bridges appeared in the supernatural horror film Forget Me Not (2010), portraying Layla, a high school student entangled in a vengeful spirit's curse alongside a group of friends.[25] Her performance marked an early foray into genre cinema, following her prior film role in The Longshots (2008). Building on this, she took on supporting roles in comedies and thrillers, including Paula in the meta-horror comedy The Final Girls (2015), where she played a character trapped in a slasher film universe with Taissa Farmiga and Malin Akerman. The film received praise for its self-aware humor, with Bridges contributing to the ensemble's dynamic. In 2016, she appeared briefly as Apartment Chloe in the raunchy road-trip comedy Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, starring Zac Efron and Adam Devine, which grossed over $77 million worldwide.[26] Transitioning to more prominent film parts, Bridges starred as Sara in the sci-fi adventure A-X-L (2018), a story about a teenage boy bonding with a robotic dog, opposite Alex Neustaedter and Becky G.[27] That same year, she played Diana in the Netflix action-comedy Game Over, Man!, depicting a hotel concierge amid a hostage crisis with Devine, Anders Holm, and Blake Anderson.[28] Her film work continued with the lead role of Jenna in the influencer satire Airplane Mode (2019), a low-budget comedy featuring Logan Paul and a roster of social media stars, which highlighted her versatility in ensemble-driven projects.[29] In recent years, Bridges shifted toward family-oriented and streaming content, starring as Hayley in the Hallmark romance Love, For Real (2021), where her character navigates a reality dating show to promote her fashion line.[30] Complementing her film efforts, she maintained a recurring television presence as Meagan, the wife of Jesse Gemstone (played by Danny McBride), across seasons 2 through 4 of HBO's The Righteous Gemstones (2019–present), appearing in multiple episodes that explored the dysfunctional televangelist family.[31] She has also appeared in recurring episodes as Detective Monique Evans in ABC's The Rookie (2023–2024).[32] As of 2025, Bridges is set to voice a character in the upcoming animated film Skate God.[33] Additionally, she featured in a Super Bowl LIX commercial for the flavored water brand Cirkul, portraying herself alongside husband Adam Devine in a humorous spot about grocery mishaps, which aired during the February 9, 2025, game and marked the brand's big-game debut.[34]Personal life
Relationship with Adam Devine
Chloe Bridges met actor Adam Devine on a flight to the set of the horror-comedy film The Final Girls in 2014, where they were both cast members.[35] The pair began dating shortly after filming wrapped, in early 2015, bonding over shared experiences in the entertainment industry.[36] After four years together, Devine proposed to Bridges during a boat ride in Newport Bay, California, in October 2019, and they announced their engagement on Instagram later that month.[37][5] Bridges and Devine married on October 9, 2021, in an oceanside ceremony at Esperanza Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, following a postponement due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[38][39] The intimate wedding, attended by approximately 90 guests, included Devine's Workaholics co-stars Blake Anderson, Anders Holm, and Erik Griffin, as well as Pitch Perfect actress Rebel Wilson.[5] Throughout their relationship, Bridges and Devine have shared public glimpses into their partnership, appearing together on red carpets such as the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards and more recent events promoting Devine's projects.[40] They frequently post affectionate updates on social media, highlighting their supportive dynamic and humorous interactions.[41]Family and motherhood
Chloe Bridges and her husband Adam Devine welcomed their first child, a son named Beau Devine, on February 16, 2024.[7] The couple announced the birth on social media three weeks later, sharing humorous photos of themselves mimicking their newborn's expressions while expressing their joy over the new addition to their family.[42] This milestone marked the beginning of Bridges' transition into motherhood following their marriage. Bridges has openly shared aspects of her motherhood experience through public posts, highlighting both the rewarding and challenging elements of parenting. In reflections on her first Mother's Day in 2024, she and Devine acknowledged the demands of caring for an infant, with Devine noting a newfound respect for his own mother's efforts.[43] By mid-2024, Bridges described postpartum experiences including emotional growth, physical changes like hair loss, and deepening bonds with her son, emphasizing the overwhelming love amid fatigue and identity adjustments.[44] These insights, drawn from her personal updates, illustrate her embrace of the multifaceted nature of early parenthood. Since Beau's birth, Bridges has prioritized family life, which has coincided with a reduction in new acting roles after 2023, attributable to her pregnancy and the initial stages of motherhood.[4] While continuing involvement in ongoing projects like The Righteous Gemstones, she has not taken on major new commitments through November 2025, allowing focus on her role as a parent. As of late 2025, the couple has not announced any additional children.[44]Filmography
