Founding of Lviv
1256
Lviv was officially founded by Prince Danylo Romanovych, named after his son Lev (Leo). The city was initially called Lvihorod, meaning 'Leo's City'.
Construction of the High Castle
1270

Capital of Galicia-Volhynia

Leo I of Galicia relocated the capital of the Galicia-Volhynia kingdom from Halych to Lviv.
