Reginald "Tre" Brown[1] (born September 24, 1997) is an American professional football cornerback for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Oklahoma Sooners.

[edit]Brown was born as Reginald Brown and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he attended Union High School. He committed to play cornerback at Oklahoma[2] over schools such as LSU, Florida, USC, and Texas.

Seattle Seahawks
[edit]On May 1, 2021, Brown was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL draft with the 137th overall pick.[5] On May 21, 2021, after the rookie mini camp, Seahawks signed Brown to a 4-year deal worth $4.1 million with a $640K signing bonus.[6][7] He was placed on injured reserve on September 7, 2021, with a knee sprain.[8] He was activated on October 15.[9] He suffered a knee injury in Week 11 and was placed on season-ending injured reserve on November 27.[10]
Brown was placed on the Active/physically unable to perform list on July 26, 2022.[11] He was placed on the reserve list to start the season on August 28, 2022.[12] He was activated on November 15.
San Francisco 49ers
[edit]On March 12, 2025, Brown signed with the San Francisco 49ers.[13] On August 21, 2025, Brown was placed on injured reserve, and later released.[14]
Los Angeles Rams
[edit]On September 16, 2025, Brown signed with the Los Angeles Rams.[15] He was waived by Los Angeles on October 28.[16]
New York Jets
[edit]On November 11, 2025, Brown was signed to the New York Jets practice squad.[17] He was promoted to the active roster on December 27.[18]

High school
Tre Brown was born on September 24, 1997, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and grew up in the surrounding area.[1] He attended Union High School in Tulsa, where he played football for four years from 2013 to 2016, demonstrating versatility across multiple positions including running back, wide receiver, and cornerback.[10] As a freshman running back in 2013, Brown contributed to a Union team that compiled an 11-3 record and ranked second in the state.[10] By his junior and senior seasons, he transitioned primarily to cornerback and special teams, helping lead the Redhawks to the 2016 Class 6A-I state championship with a 57-43 victory over Norman North.[11] During his high school career, Brown set a Union record with 922 kick return yards, including a senior-year total of 280 yards, and earned All-State honors from The Oklahoman in 2016.[12] Rated as a consensus four-star recruit by major services including 247Sports, ESPN, Rivals, and Scout, Brown received scholarship offers from top programs such as LSU, Florida, USC, and Texas.[5] He committed to the University of Oklahoma on March 11, 2016, and signed his national letter of intent in February 2017.[13][14]College career
Tre Brown enrolled at the University of Oklahoma in 2017 as a true freshman cornerback, following a highly regarded high school recruitment that saw him commit to the Sooners as a four-star prospect from Union High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Initially, he had limited playing time behind established veterans in the secondary, appearing in all 14 games but primarily in reserve roles.[3] Brown's role expanded significantly over his college career.
