Lviv National University, officially known as Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, is one of Ukraine's oldest and most prestigious higher education institutions. Following Ukraine's independence in 1991, the university underwent significant reforms. Notably, Ivan Vakarchuk served as rector from 1990 to 2007, overseeing the transition to a more autonomous institution and enhancing its international collaborations.
