Wade Wei Lin Chang MP (Chinese: 張瑋麟; born 1985 or 1986)[1] is a Taiwanese-born Canadian politician and lawyer who has served as a member of Parliament since 2025 in the riding of Burnaby Central.[2]

Early life and education

Chang was born in Taiwan and raised in Canada.[3] He also studied law in Australia and earned an MBA at Oxford.

Political career

In the 2025 Canadian federal election held on April 28, 2025, he defeated the federal New Democratic Party leader Jagmeet Singh.[3]

Chang is the second Taiwanese-Canadian to be elected to Canada’s federal government.[4] Chang is the first Gay Asian member of the Canadian parliament.[5]
