Early life
Yeu Muslim was born on 25 December 1998 in Kandal province, Cambodia.[5]Youth career
Yeu Muslim developed his early football skills within the youth academy of Phnom Penh Crown FC, Cambodia's most successful club, joining around age 13.[6] By 2013, at 14 years old, he featured prominently for the club's U-15 side in the ASEAN U-15 Champions Trophy, where he scored a notable lobbed goal in the semifinal against Vietnam's PVF Academy at Olympic Stadium, briefly giving Phnom Penh Crown hope in the 1-2 loss that eliminated them from the tournament.[7] That same year, Muslim earned a call-up to the Cambodia national U-16 team for the AFF U-16 Youth Championship in Myanmar, wearing number 10 as a striker. He appeared as a substitute in matches, including a 3-0 loss to Vietnam on September 2, contributing to Cambodia's group stage efforts alongside future teammates like Orn Chanpolin and In Sodavid, though the team did not advance.[8][9] Muslim continued his youth international progression in 2016, representing Cambodia at the AFF U-19 Youth Championship in Vietnam as a right winger for Phnom Penh Crown. Numbered 20, he played in group stage fixtures, such as a 3-0 defeat to Myanmar on July 16, helping the team secure a third-place group finish despite elimination in the semifinals to Thailand.[10][11] His performances in academy and national youth setups, including scoring in a 3-2 friendly win for Phnom Penh Crown's academy against Australia's U-16 side earlier that year, paved the way for his senior integration.[12] By mid-2016, at age 17, Muslim's consistent displays in training and youth matches led to his promotion to Phnom Penh Crown's first team, marking the transition from academy prospect to professional alongside peers like Pov Ponvuthy. He officially joined the senior squad on January 1, 2017, according to club records, debuting in the Cambodian Premier League shortly thereafter.[1]Club career
2015–2019
Yeu Muslim was part of the Phnom Penh Crown youth academy and appeared in a pre-season friendly for the U-17 side against the senior team in January 2015, scoring one goal in a 5-4 loss.[13] Phnom Penh Crown won the 2014–15 Cambodian Premier League championship via playoffs against Boeung Ket Angkor, marking the club's sixth league title.[14] The 2015–16 campaign saw the team finish as runners-up to Boeung Ket Angkor.[14] By 2017, as Phnom Penh Crown qualified for the AFC Cup based on their prior title, Muslim made his continental debut in the qualifying rounds, featuring in one match and accumulating 64 minutes of play.[15] That year, the team exited early after losses to Home United but reached the Cambodian Premier League playoffs.[16] Through 2018 and 2019, the club finished third and fourth respectively behind Nagaworld and Svay Rieng.[14] His performances during these years contributed to additional cup runs, including the Cambodian Super Cup.[17]2020–present
Yeu Muslim remained with Phnom Penh Crown after the 2019 season, solidifying his role in the squad during a period marked by domestic success and continental exposure.[1] The 2020–21 Cambodian Premier League season was heavily disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, limiting Yeu to just two appearances across the league and finals, where he played 155 minutes without recording a goal or assist.[18] Phnom Penh Crown won the title in the playoffs.[2] Yeu's breakthrough came in the 2021–22 season, where he emerged as a regular starter, featuring in 16 league matches and contributing 3 goals and 8 assists, helping drive Phnom Penh Crown to the Cambodian Premier League title.[18][2] He also made his AFC Cup group-stage debut that year, appearing in 3 group-stage matches.[18] In the league finals, Yeu added 4 appearances and 2 assists.[18] Phnom Penh Crown secured the Cambodian Super Cup in 2022.[19] Phnom Penh Crown defended their league title in 2022–23, with Yeu featuring in 15 league matches and contributing 2 goals and 3 assists.[18][2] Over the next two seasons, Yeu maintained consistent involvement, logging 23 league appearances with 1 goal and 4 assists in 2023–24, alongside 5 AFC Cup group-stage matches, as the team reached the zonal semi-finals before elimination.[18] In the 2024–25 season, he has featured in 20 league games, scoring once and assisting three times, while contributing to the Cambodian Super Cup victory.[18] Yeu's contract with Phnom Penh Crown was extended in January 2022 and runs through December 2025.[1]International career
Youth international career
Yeu Muslim represented Cambodia at the under-23 level during the qualification phase for the 2020 AFC U-23 Championship, held in March 2019 in Phnom Penh. Selected in the 23-man squad announced by head coach Félix Dalmás, he was part of the team that competed in Group H against Australia, South Korea, and Chinese Taipei, finishing last in the group with one draw and two losses.[20] Later that year, Muslim featured for the Cambodian U-22 squad at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines, a tournament limited to players born on or after January 1, 1997, with up to three overage exceptions. In the opening Group A match against the Philippines on November 25, he played as a midfielder and was involved in early action, including a challenge in the second minute that saw him fall after contact from defender Justin Baas. Cambodia drew 1–1 in that game but exited in the group stage after additional losses to Thailand and Vietnam. His involvement highlighted his emerging role in Cambodia's youth setup, contributing to a side that showed resilience against regional opponents.[21][22]Senior international career

In the 2022 edition, he appeared in group stage matches, including a 5–1 victory over Brunei Darussalam on 29 December 2022 and a 3–2 win against the Philippines on 20 December 2022, where he provided his sole international assist to Reung Bunheing.[23][25] Cambodia advanced to the semifinals that year, marking one of their stronger showings in the competition.[23] In World Cup qualifying campaigns, Muslim featured in the 2026 AFC qualification's first round, starting in a 0–0 draw against Pakistan on 12 October 2023 and appearing as a substitute in subsequent fixtures.[23] He also contributed to the 2027 AFC Asian Cup qualifying play-offs, including a match against Sri Lanka in September 2024.[26] For the 2024 AFF Championship, he played in the group stage, notably in a 1–2 loss to Singapore on 11 December 2024.[23] As of November 2025, he has earned 21 caps for the senior team without scoring a goal, with his most recent appearances occurring in 2024.[23]Playing style
