Chamaecytisus is a genus of flowering plants in the legume family, Fabaceae. It includes 43 species which range from the Canary Islands and Morocco through mainland Europe to western Siberia, Kazakhstan, the Caucasus, Anatolia, and the eastern Mediterranean.[1] It belongs to the subfamily Faboideae. It has been treated as a synonym of Cytisus.[2]

C. proliferus is a tree from the Canary Islands used as a fodder crop around the world.
