Early life and career
[edit]Hemant Choudhary[3] was born in Godda, a small town in Jharkhand and brought up in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand. He completed his later education in Delhi. He moved to Mumbai in the 90s to pursue a career as an actor in the Entertainment Industry. In the late 90s he acted in movies such as Border and Return of Jewel Thief.[4]
He is best known for his role of Raghunath Singh in Zee TV 's Jhansi Ki Rani.[5] He made his debut on television in 2001 with Zee TV 's Gharana in which he played the character of Rahul Somani. He has also starred in shows such as Siya Ke Ram,[6] Veer Shivaji, Thapki Pyar Ki,[7] Main Maike Chali Jaungi Tum Dekhte Rahiyo,[8] Namah Lakshmi Narayan,[9] Saath Saath Banayenge Ek Aashiyaan, Kumkum and Ek Ghar Banaunga.[10] He has appeared in films and web series such as Border, Azhar,[11] Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai and Aashram - Season 3.[12]

Hemant Choudhary made his debut in Bollywood with the 1994 romantic drama Yeh Dillagi, directed by Naresh Malhotra, where he portrayed Devesh in a supporting capacity.[9][10] He also appeared in the 1994 action film Betaaj Badshah, directed by Iqbal Bhatia, in an uncredited supporting role.[11] In 1996, he featured in the action thriller Return of Jewel Thief, directed by Ashok Tyagi (formerly credited to T.P. Aggarwal), portraying Ram Sethi, a bar tender, in a supporting capacity.[12][6] In 1997, he appeared in the war drama Border, directed by J.P. Dutta, playing the role of P.D. Jhansi Ki Rani on Zee TV (2009–2010).
