The system emphasizes seamless electric propulsion, with the generator activating only as needed to maintain charge levels, contributing to a quieter and more refined driving dynamic compared to traditional hybrids. The RWD variant offers 215 kW. Integrated technologies elevate the Free+'s capabilities, including Huawei's Advanced Driving System (ADS) 4.0, which supports advanced L2+ autonomous driving features, with capabilities toward L3 on highways, through features like end-to-end neural network processing for scenario prediction, LiDAR fusion, and no-map navigation. The infotainment ecosystem runs on HarmonyOS Cockpit 5.0, enabling distributed computing across devices for fluid multi-screen interactions, voice controls, and ecosystem integration. Over-the-air (OTA) updates further refine power management, allowing remote enhancements to energy distribution algorithms and drive mode efficiencies. Efficiency is bolstered by an advanced thermal management system that employs liquid cooling and heating for the battery and motors, optimizing performance across temperature extremes. Additionally, the Free+ incorporates vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, capable of outputting up to 3.3 kW to power external devices via standard outlets. Relative to the first generation, the Free+ powertrain introduces a larger battery capacity for superior range extension in EREV mode and a refined generator design that reduces noise and vibration during operation.

The second-generation Voyah Free+, launched on July 12, 2025, achieved strong initial demand with 11,583 firm orders secured within the first 15 minutes. Voyah set a projected sales target exceeding 50,000 units for the model in 2025, contributing to the brand's broader goal of 200,000 total vehicle deliveries that year. In October 2025, FREE model sales (including both generations) reached 5,343 units. Sales of the Voyah Free have been primarily concentrated in the Chinese market, where pure EV variants experienced a decline after 2023 due to growing consumer preference for EREV models offering extended range without charging infrastructure concerns. As of October 2025, cumulative sales across both generations exceeded 100,000 units. Key factors influencing these sales trends include government subsidies for new energy vehicles (NEVs), which encompass EREV powertrains and provide purchase incentives to promote adoption, alongside the model's competitive pricing strategy that undercut rivals in the luxury SUV segment.

Availability and Pricing

The Voyah Free was introduced in the Chinese market in June 2021, with deliveries beginning in late July, and pricing for the first-generation models ranging from ¥313,600 to ¥363,600 (approximately $44,000–$51,000 USD). Later updates to the first-generation EREV variants in 2023 reduced the starting price to ¥266,900. The second-generation Voyah Free+, introduced in July 2025, offers more competitive pricing starting at ¥219,900 (about $30,650 USD) for the base rear-wheel-drive EREV trim, with top all-wheel-drive models priced up to ¥279,900. Regarding global availability, the Voyah Free remained China-exclusive until exports began to Norway in late 2022. Deliveries to the United Arab Emirates commenced in May 2025, followed by Saudi Arabia later that year through a partnership with local distributor Al Ghurair. The model has not entered the U.S. market or achieved EU-wide distribution due to stringent regulatory requirements for imported electric vehicles. For the second-generation Free+, Voyah offers four trim levels: Qiankun (standard range, available in RWD and AWD), and Haohan (longer range, also in RWD and AWD configurations). In China during 2025, buyers can access government trade-in incentives providing up to ¥20,000 in subsidies for replacing older vehicles with new energy models like the Free+, effectively reducing costs by around 7–10% on base prices.
