Key Information
Jacopo Lazzarini (born 22 August 1994), known professionally as Lazza, is an Italian rapper, songwriter and record producer.
Biography
[edit]Lazzarini was born in Milan, more precisely in the Calvairate district which is in zone 4 of Milan. From a young age, he cultivated a passion for music, which led him to study piano at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan.[1] He later moved into the world of hip hop, joining the Zero2 collective and his Idol's Emis Killa Independent Label Blocco Recordz collective. In 2009, he took part in the annual Italian hip hop event Tecniche Perfette.
On November 5, 2012, he released his first mixtape album Destiny Mixtape, later followed by the second mixtape K1 Mixtape, produced by DJ Telaviv of Blocco Recordz, released on December 29, 2014.[2] In the same year, Lazza collaborated with Italian rapper Emis Killa on the singles "Bestie" and "Bella idea", contained in the latter's album Keta Music Vol. 2.[3]
On April 14, 2017, he released his first studio album Zzala which, compared to the previous mixtapes, is characterised by a cross between trap sounds and the use of the classically inspired piano.[4][5] From the album were extracted the singles "MOB", in collaboration with rappers Nitro and Salmo, and "Lario", both being certified platinum.[6] The album was promoted through a tour divided into two seasonal legs, the Zzala Tour.[7] In the following months, he devoted himself to the production of songs by various Italian artists including Ernia ("Disgusting"), Nitro ("Passepartout"), and Salmo ("Lunedì").
Preceded by the singles "Porto Cervo", "Gucci Ski Mask" and "Netflix", the former being certified gold, Lazza released his second studio album Re Mida which constitutes a further evolution of the artist's musical style, which almost totally embraces trap musicality.[8][9] The album reached the top of Classifica FIMI Artisti and currently is certified 5 times platinum.[10] On October 3, 2019, two re-releases of the album were released: Re Mida (Aurum) and Re Mida (Piano Solo): the former contains some previously unreleased tracks and new collaborations, while the latter contains several tracks rearranged for solo piano tracks, being reinterpreted by the rapper.[11]
On July 17, 2020, he released the third mixtape J, composed of ten tracks featuring the collaboration of various Italian rappers Capo Plaza, Tha Supreme, Guè Pequeno, Shiva, Rondodasosa, Dark Polo Gang and Gemitaiz.[12] In the same year he featured on three tracks of the mixtape Bloody Vinyl 3 of DJ producers Slait, Low Kidd, Young Miles and Tha Supreme.
On April 8, 2022, he released the third studio album Sirio, The album debuts at the top of the Classifica FIMI Artisti and, after a double platinum certification, is recognised as the longest-running album to top the FIMI Albums Chart in the last ten years (14 weeks), beating the previous record held by The Kolors' album Out.' Currently Sirio has reached the diamond classification and is the most listened to album of italia rap'[13]
On 4 December 2022, it was officially announced Lazza participation in the Sanremo Music Festival 2023.[14] "Cenere" was later announced as his entry for the Sanremo Music Festival 2023, finishing 2nd.[15]

Early life
Jacopo Lazzarini, professionally known as Lazza, was born on August 22, 1994, in the Calvairate district of Milan, Italy.[6][7] His family played a key role in nurturing his musical inclinations; his grandfather introduced him to music by teaching him to play the accordion, sparking an early fascination with melody and rhythm.[8] Lazzarini's mother further supported this passion, particularly for piano, by encouraging daily practice and monitoring his progress.[9] At age 10, Lazzarini began playing the piano and enrolled in formal studies at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan, where he honed his skills over the next seven years and started creating his initial compositions.[10]Career beginnings
Lazza entered the music industry in the early 2010s through the underground hip-hop scene in Milan, initially as part of the Zero2 crew alongside artists like Giaime and Mastarais.[11] His debut project, the Destiny Mixtape released on November 5, 2012, was distributed for free and featured 22 tracks showcasing raw rap skills with collaborations from local talents such as Martinez, Paskaman, and Il Vecchio; it received positive reception within Milan's emerging rap circles for its energetic freestyles and street-oriented lyrics.[12] Building on this, he released the follow-up K1 Mixtape in 2014 under the independent label Blocco Recordz, which included 16 tracks and a notable feature from established rapper Emis Killa on the song "#NSSAUC," marking a step toward more polished production while maintaining an underground edge.[13] In 2016, Lazza signed with the 333 Mob collective, founded by producers DJ Slait and Low Kidd, which provided his first significant label affiliation and shifted his focus from solo underground rap to collaborative, structured trap-influenced works.[14] This partnership led to early singles like "DDA" and "Super Santos Freestyle," both released that year, which highlighted his evolving flow and melodic experimentation, drawing on his classical piano training from the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory to infuse tracks with subtle instrumental layers.[12] He also formed deeper ties within 333 Mob, collaborating with friends and producers to refine his sound, moving away from pure freestyle battles toward beat-driven compositions suitable for club play. Lazza's initial live performances took place in Milan clubs and across Italy's freestyle circuits, where he honed his stage presence through events like Tecniche Perfette in 2009 and subsequent underground shows, building a grassroots following before wider recognition.[13] By 2017, this foundation culminated in his debut studio album Zzala, produced primarily by Low Kidd and Slait, which blended trap beats with piano elements and featured key tracks like "MOB" with Nitro and Salmo, earning a gold certification in 2018 for its innovative reception in the Italian rap scene.[11]Rise to prominence
Lazza's commercial breakthrough came with the release of his debut studio album Re Mida on March 1, 2019, under 333Mob and Universal Music Group. The album debuted at number one on the Italian Albums Chart (Classifica FIMI), marking a significant step from his earlier independent mixtapes like Zzala. Featuring collaborations with artists such as Fabri Fibra and Izi, Re Mida blended trap beats with introspective lyrics, earning critical praise for its production and Lazza's versatile flow. It has since been certified five times platinum by FIMI for over 250,000 units sold.[15][16] Following this success, Lazza released his second project, the mixtape J, on July 17, 2020, which also debuted at number one on the Italian Albums Chart and remained in the top ten for 14 weeks. The 10-track album showcased collaborations with prominent Italian rappers including Guè Pequeno on "MONCLER," Shiva on "MON AMOUR," Capo Plaza on "ALYX," and thasup on "2 TIRI," highlighting Lazza's growing network in the trap scene. Certified platinum by FIMI, J solidified his reputation as a key figure in contemporary Italian hip-hop.[17][18] Lazza achieved his greatest commercial peak with the third studio album Sirio, released on April 8, 2022, via Island Records. The album debuted at number one on the Italian Albums Chart and held the position for a record-breaking 21 consecutive weeks, one of the longest runs for any album in Italian chart history. Exploring themes of introspection, personal struggle, and emotional vulnerability through tracks like "CENERE" and "PANICO," Sirio featured guest appearances from Tory Lanez and Madame, blending melodic rap with orchestral elements. Certified diamond by FIMI—equivalent to ten times platinum—it became the best-selling album of 2022 in Italy and amassed over 1 billion streams globally. Notable singles from the era, such as "Gigolo" with Sfera Ebbasta and Capo Plaza, debuted at number one on the FIMI Singles Chart, further boosting Lazza's visibility through high-profile media exposure including his performance at the Sanremo Music Festival in 2023 with "CENERE."[19][20][21]Recent activities
In 2023, Lazza participated in the Sanremo Music Festival, performing the single "Cenere," which delves into themes of personal struggles, loss, and the yearning to escape emotional turmoil through lyrics evoking disappearance like ash.[22] Later that year, on September 20, he released the live EP REPLAY via Amazon Music Presents, featuring acoustic and live renditions of tracks from his earlier catalog, including "Piover" with Sfera Ebbasta, highlighting his growing stage presence and connection with fans.[23] Entering 2024, Lazza returned to the Sanremo Festival as a guest artist, premiering the single "100 MESSAGGI" during the final evening on February 10, a collaboration with Rose Villain that explores post-breakup self-realization and the emotional barriers to moving forward, symbolized by metaphors of insurmountable challenges like scaling Everest without tools.[24][25] On September 20, he dropped his fourth studio album LOCURA, a 18-track project blending trap and pop rap that includes high-profile international collaborations, such as "Canzone d'Odio" with American rapper Lil Baby, marking a shift toward global influences while maintaining introspective narratives on love and ambition.[4][26] In 2025, Lazza expanded his live footprint with the LOCURA Summer Tour, his debut series of stadium performances, which kicked off on July 5 in Lignano Sabbiadoro and featured headline slots at major events like Rock in Roma on July 13 and Red Valley Festival in Olbia on August 15, alongside arena shows in cities including Milan at San Siro Stadium on July 9.[27] Earlier in the year, he released the single "Amici come Prima," further teasing unreleased material amid growing social media engagement that has amplified his fanbase to over 2.4 million Instagram followers as of November 2025.[28][29] On November 13, 2025, Lazza celebrated the first birthday of his son Noah, born on November 13, 2024, with partner Greta Orsingher.[30] In media appearances, such as performances at the TIM Music Awards, Lazza has reflected on his career trajectory, emphasizing maturity in balancing artistic experimentation with broader accessibility.[31]Musical style and influences
Influences
Lazza's musical influences are deeply rooted in the Italian rap scene, particularly the trap and street-oriented styles pioneered by figures like Guè Pequeno and the group Club Dogo. Growing up in Milan, he immersed himself in the local hip-hop culture, where Club Dogo's blend of raw lyricism and urban narratives shaped his early approach to trap elements, emphasizing gritty authenticity and melodic flows. Guè Pequeno, a key member of Club Dogo, served as a stylistic benchmark for Lazza, sharing a bold, unapologetic attitude that influenced his production and delivery, despite differences in their overall aesthetics.[32] His classical music training further distinguishes his sound, stemming from formal piano studies at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan during his youth. This background introduced him to composers like Frédéric Chopin, whose intricate piano compositions inspired Lazza to integrate emotive, melodic structures into his rap and production, creating a hybrid style that juxtaposes classical sophistication with contemporary beats. As he has noted, this fusion allows him to pair a "cafone" (coarse) rap attitude with the elegance of Chopin's notes, adding emotional depth to his tracks.[32][1][33] Beyond Italy, Lazza draws from broader hip-hop and trap influences, including American artists like Anderson .Paak, whose seamless combination of rap and piano proficiency resonates with his own versatile skill set. These global elements contribute to his lyrical focus on emotional storytelling and introspection.[32] Personal experiences from his Milan upbringing profoundly inform the themes in his music, reflecting the city's fast-paced environment and the challenges of pursuing ambition amid everyday struggles. Raised in a working-class context, Lazza's early involvement in freestyle battles and the local rap scene instilled a narrative of resilience and upward mobility, evident in his exploration of personal triumphs and hardships. This "gavetta vera" (true grind) from Milan's underground circuits has been a foundational force, grounding his work in authentic tales of perseverance.[34][32]Artistic evolution
Lazza's early work, particularly the 2017 debut studio album Zzala, established his foundation in the Italian underground hip-hop scene, aligning with the dominant trap sound of the era.[35] A pivotal shift occurred with his 2019 album Re Mida, where Lazza integrated his classical piano background—honed through studies at Milan's Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi—into trap frameworks, transitioning toward piano-driven, melodic structures. Tracks like "24H" and the accompanying Re Mida (Piano Solo) edition highlighted this evolution, stripping beats to emphasize emotional depth and harmonic layers, marking a departure from pure aggression toward introspective songwriting. This progression deepened in the 2020 mixtape J and the 2022 album Sirio, where he blended electro-pop synths and orchestral elements, as evident in "Molotov"'s '80s-inspired dance pulses and "Ouv3rture"'s cinematic piano introductions. In Sirio, classical sampling further enriched the soundscape, such as the interpolation of Erik Satie's Gnossienne No. 1 in "Top Boy," creating hybrid textures that fused rap with symphonic nuance.[36] Thematically, Lazza's lyrics evolved from vivid portrayals of street life and material ambition in Zzala to profound vulnerability and self-reflection in later projects, exploring isolation, anxiety, and relational fragility. Albums like Sirio delve into personal turmoil—such as loneliness amid success in "Morto mai" and "Panico"—transforming raw bravado into confessional narratives that resonate with broader emotional experiences.[37] This trajectory continued with the 2024 album Locura, which leaned further into commercial pop-rap with dominant trap beats, pop samples (such as Laura Pausini's voice), and club-oriented grooves, while retaining selective piano elements in tracks like "100 Messaggi." Featuring artists like Sfera Ebbasta and Marracash, it emphasized themes of dissatisfaction and arrogance amid fame. In June 2025, Lazza released Locura (Opera), a reinterpretation featuring piano arrangements that balanced his rap roots with classical influences, marking an enhancement in his genre fusion as of November 2025.[38][39] Throughout his discography, Lazza has served as a primary producer, applying self-taught digital production methods to complement his formal piano expertise, enabling innovative studio experimentation like layered sampling and genre fusion without relying on external producers for core vision. Collaborations with figures like Low Kidd and Drillionaire in Sirio amplified this approach, resulting in a polished yet personal sonic identity.[37]Discography

Mixtape albums
Lazza's early mixtapes played a pivotal role in cultivating his underground following within the Milan hip-hop community, showcasing his raw lyricism and freestyle prowess through independent, freely distributed projects. These releases, produced during his formative years, highlighted themes of youthful rebellion, personal ambition, and street life, resonating with emerging trap and alternative hip-hop enthusiasts in Italy's local scenes. His debut mixtape, Destiny Mixtape, was released on November 5, 2012, as a free digital download while Lazza was still part of the Zero2 collective. Comprising 22 tracks, it featured extensive freestyles—one per song—and collaborations with crew members such as Martinez, Max Il Nano, Giaime, and El Feo, mixed by the latter. The project captured Lazza's embryonic style, blending introspective bars with high-energy flows over edited beats, and was promoted via social media and crew networks, laying the groundwork for his solo identity.[11] Following his departure from Zero2, Lazza issued K1 Mixtape on December 29, 2014, under Blocco Recordz, also available as a free download. This 16-track effort marked his first post-collective release, entirely rapped over popular American instrumentals, and included notable features like Emis Killa on "#NSSAUC" and Shine on "A Me." Emphasizing technical skill and gritty narratives, it generated initial buzz in Milan's rap circles, bolstered by endorsements from established artists like Emis Killa, and solidified Lazza's reputation for versatile, unpolished delivery.[42] These mixtapes, distributed primarily through digital platforms like SoundCloud and crew-affiliated channels, fostered a dedicated grassroots audience before Lazza's pivot to more structured studio productions.Singles as lead artist
Lazza's singles as lead artist have been pivotal in establishing his commercial success in the Italian music scene, blending trap influences with introspective lyrics and melodic elements. His early releases laid the foundation for his breakthrough, while later tracks achieved significant chart dominance and streaming milestones. His debut single "DDA" was released in 2016 as an independent effort, marking his entry into the rap landscape. In 2017, "Ouverture" (featuring Low Kidd) served as a key track from his first album Zzala, representing his initial foray into structured releases with production ties to 333 Mob. The year 2022 saw the release of "Panico" (featuring Takagi & Ketra), which peaked at No. 2 on the FIMI Singles Chart and was certified 6× Platinum for 600,000 units, highlighting Lazza's ability to collaborate while maintaining lead presence. "Molotov", also from 2022, contributed to his rising profile ahead of the Sirio era, amassing substantial streams but without specified chart peak in early records.[43] In 2023, "Cenere" became a landmark hit, debuting at No. 1 on the FIMI Singles Chart following its Sanremo performance (where it placed second overall) and topping the annual singles chart; it has been certified 9× Platinum, equivalent to 900,000 units, with over 160 million Spotify streams establishing its cultural impact.[44] Later that year, "Zonda" continued his momentum as a promotional single from Re Mida (Deluxe), focusing on thematic evolution without a reported top-chart entry. Moving into 2024, "100 messaggi" topped the FIMI Singles Chart upon release and earned 4× Platinum certification for 400,000 units, underscoring Lazza's sustained popularity with introspective themes and over 117 million streams.[45] "Zeri in più (Locura)" (featuring Laura Pausini), tied to his Locura project, built on this success, achieving No. 1 on the FIMI Singles Chart and high streaming figures exceeding 100 million across platforms by late 2025. By mid-2025, variants like "Locura (Jam)" from the ongoing Locura series maintained chart presence, with collective streams surpassing 100 million, reflecting his experimental phase.| Title | Year | Peak (FIMI) | Certification (FIMI) | Notes |

Singles as featured artist
Lazza has made significant contributions as a featured artist on various singles by prominent Italian musicians, often blending his trap and melodic rap style with diverse genres to enhance the tracks' commercial and artistic appeal. These collaborations have helped solidify his role in the Italian music scene, frequently resulting in chart success and certifications from FIMI (Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana). Early in his career, Lazza featured on Nitro's "Passepartout" (2018), a gritty hip-hop track that peaked at number 35 on the Italian Singles Chart and spent one week in the top 100.[46] In 2020, he collaborated with Guè Pequeno on "Medellin," a trap-infused single from Guè's album Mr. Fimi, which charted in Italy and highlighted Lazza's sharp lyricism alongside established rap veteran Guè Pequeno.[47] By 2022, Lazza's features gained broader mainstream traction. On Irama's "Colpiscimi," from the album Il giorno in cui ho smesso di pensare, he delivered verses that fused rap with pop sensibilities, contributing to the track's strong streaming performance on platforms like Spotify in Italy.[48] That same year, "Caos" by Fabri Fibra, featuring both Lazza and Madame, served as a lead single from Fibra's album Caos, showcasing Lazza's dynamic flow in a chaotic, high-energy rap narrative that resonated with urban audiences.[49] In recent years, Lazza's featured appearances have extended his reach into electronic and international trap sounds. The 2024 single "BBE" by ANNA, with production emphasizing bold beats, marked a crossover into dance-rap territory, peaking at No. 4 and certified 2× Platinum (200,000 units). Similarly, Sick Luke's "EXIT" (2024), featuring Lazza alongside Argentine trap artist Duki, explored bilingual themes of excess and escape, amplifying Lazza's global collaborative profile through its viral video and streaming metrics.[50] Entering 2025, Lazza continued this momentum with features like Tony Boy's "Step," a motivational rap track emphasizing progression, and Emis Killa's "In auto alle 6:00," a reflective piece produced by Takagi & Ketra that captured late-night introspection.[51][52] Notably, Sick Luke's "Money Machine," featuring Lazza and Tony Effe from the album Dopamina, peaked at number 16 on the Italian Singles Chart, underscoring Lazza's enduring impact in high-stakes trap collaborations.[53]| Year | Main Artist(s) | Title | Peak (Italian Singles Chart) | Certifications (FIMI) | Notes |

Other charted songs
Several album tracks from Lazza's discography have achieved notable chart success on the Italian singles chart independently of promotional single releases, often driven by streaming popularity and fan engagement following album launches. For instance, "Sogni d'oro" from the 2022 album Sirio peaked at number 16 on the FIMI singles chart and earned a platinum certification for over 100,000 units in Italy. Similarly, "Cinema," another cut from Sirio, reached number 22 on the FIMI chart and also received platinum certification, highlighting its resonance with listeners through introspective lyrics and melodic production. From the 2019 album Re Mida, the track "Catrame" (featuring Tedua) garnered significant streams, exceeding 59 million on Spotify, contributing to its visibility on streaming-based charts post-release, though it did not receive a standalone FIMI singles peak.[54] In more recent years, non-single tracks from Locura (2024), such as "Abitudine," benefited from viral TikTok usage in 2024-2025, boosting their entry into the lower reaches of FIMI streaming metrics without formal single promotion.[55] These examples underscore Lazza's ability to generate organic chart performance from deeper album cuts, often amplified by social media platforms.Tours and live performances
Headlining tours
Lazza's first major headlining tour, the Re Mida Tour, supported his double album Re Mida (Aurum) and Re Mida (Piano Solo) released in 2019. Spanning late 2019 into early 2020, the tour consisted of over 20 dates across various Italian cities, including club and theater venues like Alcatraz in Milan (sold out on October 24, 2019) and performances in Rome, Padova, Bari, Firenze's Viper Theatre (November 7, 2019), and Siena's Vanilla Disco (January 25, 2020). Accompanied by artists Low Kidd and Slait, the shows highlighted Lazza's blend of trap beats and piano-driven sets, drawing strong attendance amid the rising popularity of his breakthrough project. The entire run was reported as sold out, marking a pivotal moment in establishing his live draw.[56][57][58] Following the release of his 2021 mixtape Pyrex, Lazza launched the Pyrex Tour amid ongoing pandemic restrictions, adapting with virtual streaming elements for select performances to reach broader audiences. The tour featured approximately 15 arena and club shows throughout 2021, primarily in northern and central Italy, such as Bussolengo's Opera Disco Club (November 26), Parma's Campus Industry Music (November 27), and other venues like Number One in Milan. These concerts emphasized intimate production values and raw energy, serving as a bridge back to in-person live events while showcasing tracks from Pyrex alongside earlier hits. The limited scale reflected the era's challenges but solidified Lazza's reputation for innovative adaptations in live music.[59] The Sirio Tour, promoting his 2022 album Sirio, took place from summer 2022 into late 2022, with over 50,000 tickets sold across Italy and a European leg. Initial dates in 2022 included 11 festival and arena stops, such as MAMAMIA in Senigallia (June 11), Carroponte in Milan (June 16), Rock in Roma (June 21), Rimini Beach Arena (July 9), and Viper Summer Festival in Firenze (September 3), blending high-energy rap with live piano interpretations that earned critical praise for their emotional depth and technical prowess. The tour concluded with indoor dates and European shows starting November 19, 2022, amplifying its success through sold-out crowds and positive reviews highlighting Lazza's stage command.[60][61] In 2023, Lazza embarked on the Ouver-Tour, featuring arena performances across Italy from April to May, including Rome's Palazzo dello Sport (April 19), Turin's Pala Alpitour (April 27), Milan's Mediolanum Forum (April 29), Naples' Palapartenope (May 3), and Bologna's Unipol Arena (May 6). The tour extended into a summer leg with additional festival and outdoor dates.[62] Following the release of Locura in September 2024, Lazza launched the Locura Tour in 2025, including an European leg in April with shows in Barcelona (Razzmatazz, April 7) and Madrid (La Riviera, April 8), and a summer tour across Italy starting July 5 at Stadio Comunale G. Teghil in Lignano Sabbiadoro, featuring performances at San Siro Stadium in Milan (July 9), Circorumena in Rome (July 12), Arena del Mare in Genoa (July 16), and Villa Bellini in Catania (July 19), among others. The tour drew large crowds and highlighted tracks from Locura alongside career hits.[63][24][27]Festival appearances and collaborations
Lazza made his international festival debut at the Sziget Festival in Budapest, Hungary, on August 14, 2023, where he performed on the Main Stage to an enthusiastic crowd, delivering a setlist that included tracks like "Molotov," "Bugia," and "Gucci Ski Mask."[64] In Italy, he appeared at the Rock in Roma festival on July 3, 2023, at the Ippodromo delle Capannelle, showcasing songs from his album Sirio such as "Ouverture" and "Zonda" to thousands of attendees.[65][66] Throughout 2023, Lazza expanded his festival presence with performances at the Red Valley Festival in Olbia on August 12, headlining the opening day alongside artists like James Hype, drawing part of the event's overall attendance exceeding 50,000 over multiple days.[67] He also took the stage at Decibel Open Air in Florence on September 10, blending his rap style with the festival's electronic lineup featuring Amelie Lens and Paul Kalkbrenner.[68] In 2024, Lazza returned to Red Valley Festival for a surprise appearance on August 14, energizing the audience with high-energy renditions amid a bill including Sfera Ebbasta and Alan Walker, contributing to the event's draw of tens of thousands. He also served as a guest at the Sanremo Music Festival on February 10, premiering his single "100 Messaggi" during the finale.[24][69] Lazza's festival sets often featured live collaborations that highlighted his connections within the Italian hip-hop scene. During Sfera Ebbasta's OverTour at Ippodromo Snai La Maura in Milan on September 8, 2023, Lazza joined as a guest for a performance of their collaborative track "Piove," captivating the large stadium crowd.[70] Similarly, he shared stages with Madame for live renditions of "Caos" (featuring Fabri Fibra), including at Carroponte in Milan on September 23, 2022, and Mediolanum Forum on October 21, 2023, where the trio's chemistry amplified the high-energy atmosphere of these multi-artist events.[71][72]Accolades
