Key Information

Biography

[edit]

Stephan and Victor's parents pressured the duo to learn to play an instrument during their childhood, so they learned to play the piano at age 7. They grew up in several countries, where they grew to appreciate musical influences from different cultures. At a later age, Victor began experimenting with electronic music, using different computer programs. After seeing his younger brother producing, Steve became interested, and the two decided to team up as a group.[4]

In 2012, DubVision collaborated with Project 46 on the song "You & I", which they released on Spinnin' Records. That same year, they also made their debut on Axtone Records with their rendition of "Committed To Sparkle Motion" by Discopolis.[5] They released "Redux" through Spinnin' to start off 2013, and, later that year, also made their debut on Doorn Records with their track "Into the Light", in which they collaborated with Sander van Doorn.[6][7] In 2014, they released "Backlash" on Spinnin' Records, which marked their first Beatport #1 overall chart track.[8] DubVision also performed at the 2014 edition of Tomorrowland for the first time in Belgium.[9] They then remixed "Gold Skies" by Sander van Doorn and Martin Garrix for their next release on Spinnin' Records.[10] They collaborated with Feenixpawl for "Destination", their sophomore track on Axtone, for their next release.[11] For their final track of the year, they put out the single "Turn It Around," through Spinnin' Records as well.[12]

In 2018, DubVision joined forces with Firebeatz to form the supergroup METAFO4R, debuting their collaboration at EDC Las Vegas.[13] As a quartet, they released their first single, "Best Part Of Me," which was well-received by audiences. METAFO4R followed up in 2019 with the track "Rave Machine," which further showcased the synergy between DubVision and Firebeatz.

DubVision continued to gain recognition for their collaborative projects. In 2020, they worked with Alesso on the single "One Last Time," a track that highlighted their ability to evolve and adapt within the electronic music genre.[14] Their collaborations with Martin Garrix in 2022 produced tracks like "Starlight (Keep Me Afloat)" and "Oxygen," both featured on Garrix's album Sentio. These releases further cemented DubVision’s status as prominent figures in the electronic dance music scene.

Through their consistent output, DubVision has maintained a strong presence in the global music scene, performing at major festivals, releasing chart-topping tracks, and working with industry-leading artists. Their ability to blend influences from various genres and cultures continues to define their innovative sound.

In July 2024 Dutch duo DubVision have released their debut album “Another World” under STMPD RCRDS reflecting the dynamic energy of their live performances. The album features high-profile collaborations with electronic music titans like Martin Garrix, who appears on two tracks, AFROJACK, and the emotive vocals of Jem Cooke. The lead single "Home," featuring Shaun Farrugia's striking vocals, sets the tone for the album, promising an immersive listening experience.[15]

They incorporate elements of and , blending the aggressive synth stabs and driving basslines of electro with the bouncy, vocal-driven grooves of future house to create versatile tracks suitable for diverse dance floors. This fusion allows their productions to maintain a high-energy, anthemic quality while emphasizing emotional resonance over pure aggression. Central to their sound are euphoric anthems featuring expansive melodies and emotional builds that evoke a sense of and positivity, often culminating in high-energy drops optimized for environments. Organic textures, derived from piano-like chord progressions and subtle layers, add warmth and depth, distinguishing their work from more synthetic EDM styles and enhancing the immersive, hands-in-the-air experience. Their tracks typically follow a classic EDM structure—intro, build-up, explosive drop, and breakdown—fostering anticipation and crowd engagement through gradual intensity escalation. In production, DubVision employs layered synthesizers to construct rich, soaring soundscapes, integrating vocal chops for rhythmic texture and catchy melodic hooks that anchor the listener's attention. This approach results in a signature "in-your-face" vibe that combines euphoric uplift with relentless drive, making their music immediately recognizable and potent for live performances.

By the mid-2010s, they shifted toward polished , incorporating organic sounds and melodic elements influenced by global cultures and personal travels, while maintaining euphoric anthems as a core characteristic. This period marked a refinement of their sound, moving away from aggressive electro toward more layered, vocal-driven productions on labels like and Axtone. Over their career, DubVision's evolution reflected broader electronic music trends, progressing from high-energy, festival-oriented tracks in 2012–2015 to deeper, more introspective by the late 2010s. In 2024, this culminated in their debut Another World, a 10-track release emphasizing melodic influences, new production techniques, and album-oriented storytelling, accompanied by an interactive audiovisual show. The deluxe edition further expanded this with edits, underscoring their adaptation to a maturing EDM landscape. Into 2025, releases such as "Rise Again" with continued their signature style, featuring euphoric anthems and emotional builds.
