BAMMA 5: Daley vs. Shira was a mixed martial arts event held by the British Association of Mixed Martial Arts on 26 February 2011 at the MEN Arena in Manchester.[citation needed]
Background
BAMMA 5 was the first BAMMA event held outside of Birmingham or London. The event was originally scheduled to take place at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle on 4 December 2010 and headlined by a heavyweight bout between Stav Economou and Bob Sapp.[13] However, due to snowstorms in the UK the event was cancelled.[14]
It was then rescheduled for 26 February 2011 at the MEN Arena in Manchester.[citation needed] In January 2011, it was reported that Paul Daley was in advanced talks to headline the event.[citation needed] It was also reported by Scott Coker of Strikeforce that Paul Daley would only fight the winner of Nick Diaz and Evangelista Santos if he wins at BAMMA 5.[15]
The main event was scheduled to award the vacant Welterweight title match but was changed to a non-title contest when Paul Daley failed to make the required weight by just 0.88 pounds (400 grams).[16]
This event aired live on the UK TV channel SyFy, as part of a new TV deal. It was also broadcast live around the world on www.bammatv.com as an online stream pay per view, a first for the organization.

BAMMA 11: Marshman vs. Foupa-Pokam was a mixed martial arts event held by the British Association of Mixed Martial Arts (BAMMA) on 1 December 2012, at National Indoor Arena in Birmingham.
Background
Alex Reid is set to return to BAMMA at this event.[39]
This event will also crown the first BAMMA British Welterweight Champion and the first British Lightweight Champion.[40]
UCMMA Light Heavyweight champion Linton Vassell was scheduled to face Jason Jones at this event as the co-main event, but Vassell had to pull out due to injury.[41]
The event made history in the UK as the first MMA event to have been shown live on terrestrial television. However, there has been controversy over the layout of the event in the one-hour timeframe. On Channel 5, the only fight to have been shown live was Alex Reid vs Sam Boo, and then highlights of what was supposed to have been the main event, Jack Marshman vs. Xavier Foupa-Pokam. Reid had not fought for over a year by this point and admitted going into the fight that he was very rusty and had not been training properly until September, and this reflected in the fight as it was described by The Mirror as scrappy, at times it was dirty (both men were deducted points for fouls during the bout) and slow-paced.[42] Overall many critics and fans felt that it was the wrong fight to present as the historic first live fight on Channel 5.

BAMMA 1: The Fighting Premiership
BAMMA 1: The Fighting Premiership marked the debut of the British Association of Mixed Martial Arts (BAMMA), a promotion founded in 2009 to fill the void left by the defunct Cage Rage in the UK MMA landscape. Held on June 27, 2009, at the Room by the River in London, England, the event showcased nine professional bouts across multiple weight classes, including lightweight, welterweight, and middleweight divisions. This inaugural card established BAMMA's commitment to high-quality MMA competition under unified rules, with all fights contested over three five-minute rounds and emphasizing striking, grappling, and submissions.[6][7] The main event featured a middleweight clash between Tom Watson and John Maguire, where Watson secured a come-from-behind victory via TKO (punches) at 2:47 of the third round, highlighting his resilience after being rocked early. Other prominent bouts included welterweight prospect Che Mills outpointing Edgelson Lua by unanimous decision over three rounds, demonstrating Mills' striking precision and ground control, and lightweight matchup Eugene Fadiora edging Nathan Champ via unanimous decision in a competitive striking affair. Additional results saw Denniston Sutherland submit John Phillips with punches in the first round (3:22), Francis Heagney TKO Zack Jones early (1:08, round 1), Adam Stanton tap Dan Movahedi with an arm-triangle choke (1:08, round 1), Tim Radcliffe defeat Abdul Mohamed by unanimous decision, Kes Kpokogri defeat Ben Craggy by unanimous decision, and Radek Piechnik TKO Spe McMorris with punches in the first round (1:57), underscoring the event's mix of finishes and decisions across the undercard.[6][7] As BAMMA's premiere offering, the event served as the opening leg of a planned tournament series aimed at crowning early champions in select divisions, drawing a dedicated crowd of UK MMA enthusiasts and signaling the promotion's ambition to rival international standards. Broadcast live on the Bravo network, it provided national exposure for emerging British talent and set the template for future BAMMA cards with its focus on domestic fighters.[7][6]BAMMA 2: Roundhouses at the Roundhouse
BAMMA 2: Roundhouses at the Roundhouse marked the second professional mixed martial arts event organized by the British Association of Mixed Martial Arts (BAMMA), serving as a follow-up to the inaugural show's success in establishing the promotion within the UK scene. Held on February 13, 2010, at the iconic Roundhouse venue in London, England, the event demonstrated early growth by expanding the fight card to 11 bouts, drawing a crowd of approximately 1,500 spectators who witnessed a blend of emerging UK talent and international competitors. This gathering highlighted BAMMA's ambition to build a robust roster, with bouts spanning multiple weight classes and showcasing striking and grappling exchanges in a regulated environment.[8][9] The main event was a featherweight title fight between Alan Omer and Paul Reed, pitting Omer's submission skills against Reed's experience, with Omer securing the win via triangle choke at 2:10 of the fourth round. Key undercard fights included Icelandic grappler Gunnar Nelson's quick submission victory via rear-naked choke over Sam Elsdon in round 1 (4:47), and a lightweight title bout where Rob Sinclair defeated Nathan Beer by TKO (punches) in round 1 (3:42). These contests exemplified the event's focus on diverse styles, with finishes via knockout, submission, and decision contributing to an engaging night of action.[10][8] In terms of broadcast and reach, BAMMA 2 represented initial efforts to broaden accessibility, with the event airing on Bravo television the following Sunday, marking an early step toward wider distribution before the promotion's later adoption of online streaming platforms for highlights and full cards. The show's success in attracting international participants like Gunnar Nelson signaled BAMMA's growing reputation as a destination for European MMA talent and helped solidify its position as the UK's premier promotion during its formative years. Attendance figures reflected solid interest, with the Roundhouse's intimate setting amplifying the atmosphere for fans experiencing professional MMA in a historic London landmark.[9]BAMMA 3: Horwich vs. Watson
BAMMA 3: Horwich vs. Watson took place on May 15, 2010, at the LG Arena in Birmingham, England, marking the promotion's third event and its first in a major arena setting.[11] The card featured multiple title bouts and showcased rising UK talent against international opponents, building on the momentum from BAMMA's inaugural 2009–2010 events that established it as a premier British MMA organization.[12] The main event was a middleweight title fight between British contender Tom Watson and American veteran Matt Horwich, a former IFL champion with UFC experience. Watson captured the vacant title via unanimous decision (48-47, 49-47, 49-46) after five rounds, earning widespread praise for his dominant grappling and striking performance in a high-profile UK vs. USA clash. This victory propelled Watson toward future stardom and highlighted BAMMA's growing appeal in attracting established fighters. Preliminary highlights featured submission wins, such as Simeon Thoresen's unanimous decision over John Maguire in welterweight and Seth Petruzelli's first-round armbar against Ryan White in heavyweight (1:07), contributing to an overall card that emphasized BAMMA's commitment to competitive matchmaking. The event was broadcast live on Bravo in the UK, reaching a broader audience and underscoring BAMMA's early television presence. As the promotion's largest show to date, it attracted over 3,000 attendees and boosted visibility for British MMA on the international stage.[13]BAMMA 4: Reid vs. Watson
BAMMA 4: Reid vs. Watson took place on September 25, 2010, at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham, England. The event was headlined by a middleweight title bout between champion Tom Watson and challenger Alex Reid. Watson, riding a wave of momentum from his previous victory, aimed to defend his belt against the high-profile Reid, whose celebrity status added significant media attention to the matchup.[14] In the main event, Tom Watson defeated Alex Reid by unanimous decision after five rounds, retaining his BAMMA Middleweight Championship and extending his winning streak within the promotion. The event featured 10 bouts, including two title fights, and marked BAMMA's return to the iconic venue following their successful outing at BAMMA 6 the previous year. It represented a significant step for UK MMA, as it was the promotion's first live broadcast on terrestrial television in the United Kingdom via Channel 5*, alongside international coverage on HDNet in the United States.[35][36][37] The main event saw BAMMA Lightweight Champion Rob "C4" Sinclair defend his title against former UFC fighter and TUF 9 contestant Andre Winner in a five-round headliner. The event's lightweight and middleweight title defenses underscored BAMMA's commitment to crowning domestic champions, while the welterweight action contributed to the promotion's ongoing talent development in that division.[35][39]BAMMA 11: Marshman vs. Foupa-Pokam
BAMMA 11 took place on December 1, 2012, at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham, England.[40] The event featured 14 bouts across various weight classes, highlighting emerging British MMA talent and marking significant title defenses and acquisitions in the promotion's lightweight and welterweight divisions.[41] Broadcast live on Channel 5 in the United Kingdom and AXS TV in the United States, it drew attention for its mix of established fighters and prospects vying for divisional supremacy.[42] The card was headlined by a middleweight clash between Alex Reid and Sam Boo, with Reid securing a unanimous decision victory (three rounds of 28-27) through effective striking and clinch work, marking his return to competitive form.[43] However, the event's namesake co-main event pitted undefeated British prospect Jack Marshman against the experienced French striker Xavier "Professor X" Foupa-Pokam in a high-stakes middleweight bout with implications for future title contention. Marshman, coming off a decision win earlier in the year, aimed to solidify his status as a top contender, while Foupa-Pokam sought to rebound from recent setbacks. The fight unfolded intensely over three rounds, with Foupa-Pokam escaping an early armbar attempt and opening a cut on Marshman via elbow in the clinch; judges scored it as a split decision victory for Foupa-Pokam (30-27, 30-27, 28-29), handing Marshman his second professional loss.[43] This upset added intrigue to the middleweight landscape, as Foupa-Pokam's grappling resilience and striking precision edged out Marshman's aggressive pressure.[44] Complementing the top billing were two title fights that defined the night's legacy. In the welterweight division, unbeaten Tom Breese claimed the British championship by submitting Warren Kee with a rear-naked choke at 3:06 of the first round, extending his perfect record to 6-0 and establishing himself as a dominant force.[43] Similarly, Steven Ray captured the lightweight title via unanimous decision (three rounds of 30-27) over Dale Hardiman, showcasing superior cardio and volume striking to improve to 12-3.[43] Other notable undercard results included Max Nunes' first-round knockout of Kevin Thompson at 1:40, underscoring the event's emphasis on finishes and the promotion's role in nurturing future stars ahead of expanded title opportunities in subsequent years.[43]2013 Events

BAMMA 12: Wallhead vs. Veach was a mixed martial arts event produced by the British Association of Mixed Martial Arts (BAMMA), held on March 9, 2013, at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle upon Tyne, England.[45] The event marked BAMMA's debut in the city of Newcastle, expanding the promotion's reach in the North East of England.[46] It featured nine professional bouts across various weight classes, with a focus on established UK talent and international prospects. The card was broadcast live on 5* in the United Kingdom, with additional coverage on AXS TV in the United States and The Fight Network in Canada.[47][48] The main event pitted English welterweight Jim "Judo" Wallhead against American UFC veteran Matt Veach in a high-stakes non-title showdown. Wallhead, rebounding from a loss earlier in his career and building on his prior victory over Frank Trigg at BAMMA 7, dominated the fight with superior grappling.[49] He secured a rear-naked choke submission at 3:05 of the first round, earning a emphatic win and solidifying his status as a top BAMMA welterweight contender.
