A secondary option, the 2.0-liter naturally aspirated inline-four (JL479Q), was limited to early first-generation export models, primarily in markets outside from 2017 to 2019. Its use was phased out in favor of the more efficient turbocharged unit as global emissions standards tightened. Transmission pairings for the 1.5T have evolved to enhance drivability and efficiency. Initial models offered a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic (sourced from ), providing flexibility for cost-sensitive buyers. From the second generation onward in 2021, a seven-speed wet-clutch (DCT) became standard, improving shift speed and fuel economy by up to 10% compared to the prior automatics through better . This DCT integrates seamlessly with the 's turbo characteristics, achieving 0-100 km/h acceleration in about 8.5 seconds. Powertrain evolution reflects Changan's focus on incremental upgrades for competitiveness. The 1.5T saw a notable power increase to 188 horsepower in the 2019 Plus update, with refined tuning for 300 Nm of , enhancing highway passing without sacrificing refinement. All-wheel drive (AWD) integration appeared in (2021 onward), utilizing an on-demand system that distributes up to 50% of to the rear for improved traction in adverse conditions, available on higher-end DCT-equipped models. Emissions compliance has been a core aspect, with all CS55 internal combustion variants meeting Euro 6 or equivalent China VI standards through the integration of three-way catalytic converters and gasoline particulate filters (GPF) to reduce fine particle emissions by over 90%. These features ensure the powertrains align with global environmental regulations while maintaining the engine's above 38%.
