Pevarini (misspelled peverini in one notable source^[1]) is a traditional pepper cookie of Venice, Italy.^[2] It is traditionally made with molasses, lard, white pepper, and flour.^[2][3] Modern recipes for pevarini often use butter as a substitute for lard.^[2][4] Spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves are common additions to the cookie.^[2][4]
